What MAPlates is
MAPlates is an independent reference and idea generator for Massachusetts license plates. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles or any government agency.
No availability guarantees
Nothing on this site is a promise that a plate can be registered. Format rules describe what a series' plate numbers look like, not what's free. Availability labels ("taken", "likely open", "unknown") describe our own records at a point in time; only the RMV can confirm whether a plate is actually available to you, at the moment you apply. Decisions you make based on this site are your own.
Acceptable use
- Don't scrape, bulk-harvest, or resell the data. The site is for people looking for their own plate.
- Don't attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits, or access controls.
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful.
Accounts
You're responsible for your account and keeping its password safe. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.
Paid features
Pro features are currently granted manually and may change as the product evolves. Where a paid subscription exists, its scope is what the pricing page describes at the time of grant.
Liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAPlates is not liable for damages arising from use of the site — including decisions made in reliance on availability labels or format data.
Changes
These terms may change as the product does; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the new terms.
