What Pro's labels do — and don't — mean
Our records are observations, not the RMV's live database. Taken means a record shows the plate number attached to a registration. Likely open means the last reliable observation found nobody holding it — always shown with its date, and always worth confirming with the RMV. Unknown means our records simply have no reliable answer. We never claim a plate is guaranteed available to register. Read more in How It Works.
