What we store when you search
The words you type into the Idea Finder are personally meaningful by design — names, initials, significant years. Be aware of what that means for storage:
- Search inputs are stored. Each search's concepts, options, and generated results are saved so the product can show your history (if you have an account) and so we can improve generation quality.
- Signed-in searches are linked to your account, and appear in your account's search history.
- Guest searches are never linked to your IP address directly. We store a one-way SHA-256 hash of the IP — enough to rate-limit and count usage, not to identify you. The raw IP is not written to our database.
What we store when you register
- Your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never see or store the plaintext).
- Your saved favorites and search history.
- Any subscription granted to your account (plan, dates, status). We hold no payment details — there is no online checkout.
Cookies
Only the essential first-party cookies Laravel needs: a session cookie and a CSRF token. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.
What we don't do
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No third-party trackers or ad networks.
- No claim that we're connected to the RMV — and no sending your searches to it or anyone else.
Deleting your data
Deleting your account from the profile page permanently removes the account, its favorites, and unlinks its search history. Anonymous, aggregate usage counters (which never contained your identity) are retained.
